(CLOSED) Clinical Epidemiologist

Location: Malawi - Lilongwe

Seeking: A clinical epidemiologist or public health specialist with a proven record of developing and implementing monitoring and evaluation (M&E) tools and systems in a clinical setting. The Lighthouse—a Malawian Trust, working in partnership with the Ministry of Health (MoH) as a centre of excellence in HIV Treatment, Care and Support– provides a continuum of quality care to over 10,000 patients on anti-retroviral therapy (ART) in its two sites (http://www.mwlighthouse.org/). In concert with a dynamic 8-member M&E team, and in collaboration with the Lighthouse clinical advisor, unit coordinators and direct service providers, you will provide technical assistance to expand the technical capacity of the Lighthouse to build sustainable M&E systems for all Lighthouse services. Significant emphasis will be placed on the increasingly integrated HIV services in Malawi, such as HIV testing and Counselling, ART, Palliative Care, linkage of PMTCT and ART, and TB/HIV management services.

Qualifications: Clinical degree with expertise in M&E, and/or Master’s Degree (or above) in epidemiology or public health; knowledge of M&E principles, techniques, methods, and skills in presenting strategic information to inform program and policy decisions; At least 3 years of professional experience designing and implementing M&E activities and/or operational research in resource limited settings (preferably clinical settings in Southern Africa); mastery of word processing, data management, and statistical programs (e.g.: MySQL, Access, STATA, SPSS, SAS, etc.).
