Somalia Human Resources Manager

This position, based in Nairobi, is a rather unique one in that our Kenyan-based client is looking for an individual who is interested in leading our local recruiting efforts in Kenya and Somalia for several high profile projects in the area of medical services, infrastructure development, microfinance, NGO support services and operations, and related multinational projects.

We are looking for an individual who has at least three years of sales, management or recruiting. The successful candidate will be someone comfortable operating at the grass roots level out in the field AND also with their executive counterparts.

Position Requirements:

1. Must live in Kenya or Somalia now
2. Sales or management experience;
3. Able to communicate in English;
4. Be of Somali cultural heritage is a big plus
5. Must speak Somali or Arabic fluently
6. Must have very good reading comprehension and written skills in English language
7. Experience in the recruiting field a big plus
8. Must be able to work independently with little or no supervision
9. Must have a strong academic background and credentials

General Duties:

1. Communicate directly to overseas executive counterparts;
2. Hire and train local workers to staff the client projects;
3. Lead the recruiting phase of this project;
4. Accept the relevant technology training; then mentor and teach others;
5. Travel throughout Somalia solving operational problems with local workers and ensuring that the project is on schedule;
6. Be responsible for project implementation
