Job Objectives:

General objective:

To evaluate the nutrition situation and opportunities in North-West Frontier Province (NWFP) of Pakistan (Distrcits TBD), make an inventory/mapping of nutrition partners and activities already in place, to elaborate a nutrition strategy for ACF programming in this area.

Activities:

1. Collection and capitalisation of data:

- Meeting with other actors involved in assistance projects (local NGO, government bodies…)
- Visits of local health centres/other structures involved with malnutrition treatment and/or working with vulnerable population (hospital, orphanages, social centres, etc)
- Collection of data regarding population size, composition, status; protocol used in potential nutrition programs, and number of beneficiaries involved, potential morbidity, mortality and nutrition assessments done in target area in the previous months
- Collection of other relevant information, regarding the possible evolution of nutrition situation in the area (access to health care, food, markets, sanitation, housing, etc.)
- Identification of potential partners (NNGOs, INGOs, MoH structures/counterparts)
- Capitalisation of the information collected in a report

2. If time and access allow: Nutrition anthropometric assessments:

- Involve/consult local authorities
- Mapping of the area, definition of survey methodology (SMART, rapid assessment), selection of the clusters
- Recruit and train the teams for the achievement of the surveys
- Preparation of the surveys (planning, logistics), in collaboration with the team on the ground.
- Implement the survey, supervise the field work
- To enter and analyse the data
- Write the report, presenting data results, context and recommendations
- After validation by HQs, present the data to local partners and authorities

3. Design of ACF nutrition activities in the area

- Write a proposal (LFA, narrative and budget) for ACF nutrition program in the targeted area (including proposed activities, results, indicators)
- After validation of proposed LFA by the coordination field team and the HQs, write a proposal for the funding of proposed activities previous humanitarian experience needed.

Qualifications:

Level of study/specific qualifications/technical requested:

- University background, nutritionist, epidemiologist, public health
- Fluent english.
- Good managerial and training skills
- Good capacity of representing ACF
- Good statistics and writing capacities.
- SMART
