(CLOSED) Programme Manager, Humanitarian Mine Action

Location: Sudan (the) - Nuba mountains

DanChurchAid (DCA) is looking for a competent Programme Manager for our Humanitarian Mine Action Programme in Sudan. As a Programme Manager you will be heading our efforts to secure a safer environment for the local population in one of the most deprived and war affected areas in the world. The posting is a non-family duty station.

- Proposal and report writing skills

- Cultural sensitivity and the ability to build relations both within and outside DCA
- Entrepreneurial drive and commitment to getting the job done
- Previous Mine Action experience and experience from developing countries is an advantage.

The Humanitarian Mine Action programme in Sudan started in 2003 in the Nuba Mountains, South Kordofan, for more info see www.danchurchaid.org/hma. The programme office is located in Kadugli and has almost 100 national and 8 international staff. The programme carries out land clearing activities through locating and destroying ammunition and UXOs as well as Mine Risk Education. Besides manual clearance the programme is also developing a new Wide Area Detection System.
