(CLOSED) Programme Manager, Humanitarian Mine Action

Location: Democratic Republic of the Congo (the) - Kalemie

DanChurchAid (DCA) is looking for a highly competent Programme Manager for our Humanitarian Mine Action Programme in DR Congo (Katanga). As a Programme Manager you will be heading our efforts to secure a safer environment for the local populations in one of the most deprived and war affected areas in the world. The posting is a non-family duty station.

We offer:

We expect you to have:
- Proven experience in results based management and leadership
- The ability to cope in a challenging environment
- Accountability and integrity
- Proposal and report writing skills
- The ability to lead and motivate staff in a hardship environment
- Cultural sensitivity and the ability to build relations both within and outside DCA
- Entrepreneurial drive and commitment to getting the job done
- Previous Mine Action experience and experience from developing countries is an advantage
- Fluency in French – or capability and desire to learn - is a requirement

The Humanitarian Mine Action programme in DR Congo started in 2004 – for more info please see www.danchurchaid.org/hma . The office is located in Kalemie in Eastern DR Congo. The programme has almost 200 national staff and 8 international staff all working to remove landmines and unexploded ordnance and ensure that the local population is educated on the danger of mines.
