(CLOSED) Expert on Business Sector Analysis

Having been shortlisted for a tender published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, CARE is seeking for an International EXPERT ON BUSINESS SECTOR ANALYSIS.

Project title: Rural Private Sector Development Programme, Georgia
Project duration: 4 years (01/2010 - 12/2013)
Expected input: 5,5 person months
Place of work: country of residence and Georgia

General qualifications:

- A relevant university degree or equivalent
- Five years of relevant professional experience
- Good communication and interpersonal skills

Specific qualifications:

- Relevant topical experience in connection with business sector analysis and support (preferably
agribusinesses) or:
- Relevant topical experience in planning and implementing reforms of public business regulatory
bodies and support facilities
- Counselling and training of enterprises and service providers

Experience in the region:

- Five years of work experience in transitional countries. Work experience of the Caucasus region
and Southeast is an advantage
- Fluency in English. Georgian or Russian language skills is an advantage

Programme Objectives

The Development Objective of the programme reflects the overall strategy and is defined as:
- Living conditions among fruit/berry producers and fish farmers in the three target regions improved in a socially balanced way.
- The Immediate Objectives at programme level are the development objectives of the two components and their attainment will make a direct contribution to achieving the programme development objective or part of it.

The immediate objectives (i.e. the objectives for components A and B) are defined as:
A. Primary producers within the fruit/berry and the aquaculture value chains in Samegrelo, Guria and Ajara use better technologies, have capacity to develop these further and have access to profitable markets.
B. Actors within the fruit/berry and the aquaculture value chains have access to finance.
