Qualifications and skills:
- a University degree in Law
- a PhD would be an asset
- Excellent analytical skills
- Excellent drafting capacities coupled with excellent command of the English language
- Capacity to adapt to hard working conditions
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
General and specific professional experience:
- A minimum of 10 years professional experience in an area relevant to the assignment
- relevant work experience in developing countries, experience in (post-)conflict zones preferred
- the expert will have proven experience in defining and implementing Legal Aid programmes in similar contexts
- Extensive experience setting up and/or operating legal aid clinics
- Extensive experience developing curricula, training materials and facilitating trainings
- Experience in organizational development initiatives and organizing educational/outreach campaigns
