(CLOSED) Education Adviser

Location: Indonesia - Ambon, Maluku

Based in Ambon, Maluku, £ 22,082 pa, 12 month contract initially. Unaccompanied status.

Our Indonesia programme is operating in West Timor, West Kalimantan, Buton (South-East Sulawesi), and in Maluku.

This new post of Education Adviser in Ambon, has been created to develop and implement our programme interventions. Responsibilities include managing and developing the education content and delivery, capacity building of the project team and partners, facilitating community participation, monitoring and evaluation and advocacy initiatives.

You must have extensive experience in education programme development and implementation, preferably in post conflict areas together with experience in the implementation of basic education initiatives.

Qualifications in education preferably in formal, non formal and informal primary education are essential together with a working knowledge of the issues facing displaced people and host communities in regard to community integration and resettlement especially on these impact on children. A skilled communicator, you will be able to advocate IDP educational needs to local and central government authorities. Given the locations of these posts, you must be able and willing to live amongst a community in an isolated and insecure environment.
