The Struggle after Combat. The Role of NGOs in DDR Processes: Synthesis Study

The Disarmament, Demobilisation and Reintegration of ex-combatants is an imminent challenge in countries emerging from violent conflict. This study explores whether NGOs should contribute to such processes and how they could do so. Field work was done in Afghanistan, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Sierra Leone. The full report consists of the three case studies and a synthesis study.
