Information management internship The intern will assist the information management team in web site-related content on humanitarian emergencies and related issues. Candidates are encouraged to visit the OCHA Japan website for further information. Duties: - Performing Internet based research on specific countries and emergencies, including analysis of information gaps in order to update and extend the coverage of ReliefWeb, - Assist in research and updating Professional Resources, Policy & Issues and Country Background sections, including announcements of Vacancies and Training events. - Assist Managing Editor and Information Managers with ongoing outreach, partner development and content management activities. - Undertake the conversion of existing electronic publications, and creating and formatting documents in specialised databases. Editing/formatting of electronic documents in accordance with guidelines - Other project work, as necessary. Requirements: - Applicants must be enrolled in university education throughout the duration of the internship. - Fluency in English, working knowledge of Japanese, strong writing skills, computer literacy and an interest in humanitarian affairs are required. Working knowledge of French, Spanish, Chinese or Korean is desirable. - Excellent computer skills, particularly Internet-based research. Experience or interest in website management is desirable. Work Hours: 9:00 to 17:00, 4 to 5 days per week. Kansai-based students with academic commitments may be permitted to work minimum of 3 days per week.
