Myanmar: PM Samak updates viewers concerning assistance to victims of Nargis cyclone

At Samak's Sunday Talk Program, the premier updated viewers concerning Thailand's assistance to cyclone-hit victims in Myanmmar.

The premier says at the time being, Thailand has been playing a vital role in helping the Nargis victims, adding that 47 countries entrusted Thailand in encouraging the Myanmar Government to open its door to international relief agencies.

Mr. Samak says not only did Thailand hand over donations and monk robes, but also Thai medic teams were sent to provide treatments to the victims. He says at the same time, Thai private sector assisted Myanmar farmers with agricultural equipments and machines to alleviate the cyclone-hit areas.
