Army Commander dispatches aid caravan to Myanmar

Supreme Army Commander General Boonsarng Niempradit (?? ??) presided over a ceremony to release a caravan of trucks carrying aid to Myanmar. The Army Commander is also serving as the director of the Army Relief Center, which has become the headquarters to receive donations for those afflicted by Cyclone Nargis in Myanmar.

The caravan consisted of 10 truck each with a capacity of 100 tons and left from Chaengwattana road in Bangkok. The caravan is to arrive in Myanmar tomorrow by passing through the Mae Sod area of Tak province.

General Boonsarng pledged continued efforts to aid the neighboring nation, stating that he has also requested additional flights from the Air Force to distribute aid. He remarked however, that it would be a matter of funding as well.
