Minister of Public Health Chaiya Sasomsab reports that he will travel to Myanmar by a C130 plane to pick up 30 physicians dispatched there by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn. 30 more physicians will travel with the minister to provide medical assistance for people affected by Cyclone Nargis.
Mr Chaiya says the second group of physicians is better prepared than the first one as they have learned more about Myanmar's needs. The second group of physicians is from the Siriraj Hospital. They will also bring with them drinking water, camping gears, and medicines.
The minister also says he is satisfied with operation of the first team of physicians who were willing to travel to Myanmar. He says he will attend a meeting with the Myanmar authorities to discuss problems found there and inspect the cyclone affected areas.
