·         Insécurité dans Bujumbura Rurral: Mgr Pie Ntukamazina et un autre pasteur (Eglise anglicane du Burundi) ont été enlevés hier (8 août) lors d’une embuscade tendue sur leur véhicules par les rebelles du Palipehutu-FNL (Agathon Rwasa) entre Mutumba et Magara.

·         Le mouvement CNDD-FDD de Pierre Nkurunziza s’est transformé en un parti politique; résultats issu du 3e congrès national tenu pendant le weekend à au Grand Séminaire Jean Pau II de Gitega. Particiapient à ce congrès : le FPR (parti au pouvoir au Rwanda), le CCM (Tanzanie) et l’ANC (South Africa).

·         Elections à la Fédération de Footbal du Burundi (FFB) : Mme Lydia Nsekera remplace Aimé Moses Baransananiye.

·         Insecurity in Bujumbura Rural: Mgr Pie Ntukamazina and another pastor of the Anglican Church in Burundi were abducted as Palipehutu-FNL rebels ambushed their vehicle between Mutambu and Magara yesterday 8 August.

·         Pierre Nkurunziza’s CNDD-FDD turned into a political party, as a result of the movement’s third congress held in the Grand Seminaire Jean Paul II of Gitega (Gitega Province) over the weekend. In attendance were: FPR (Rwanda ruling party), CCM (Tanzania) and ANC (South-Africa).

·         Football federation of Burundi (FFB) elections: Mrs Lydia Nsekera takes over from Aimé Moses Baransananiye.

·         Pas de surprise, résultats du congrès du mouvement CNDD-FDD (6-7 août): Pierre Nkurunziza est élu Président du parti CNDD-FDD, et Hussein Radjabu est élu Secrétaire Général du parti.

·         Lancement officiel d’une campagne pour l’allaitement maternel aujourd’hui. Interview avec Dr Tharcisse Nzeyimana)

·         No surprise, with regard to results of the third congress held by CNDD-FDD movement (6-7 August): Pierre Nkurunziza was elected President of the party and Hussein Radjabu, Secretary General.

·         Official launching of a campaign for breastfeeding today 9 August. Interview with Dr Tharcisse Nzeyiman, gynaecologist.

·         L’association PA-Amasekanya a manifesté hier contre les criminels et les génocidaires. Ils se rappelaient des 27 joueurs de handball de l’Institut Supérieur des Cadres Militaires (ISCAM).

·         P-A Amasekanya association protested against those charged with genocide. They were commemorating the death of 27 handball players from the Institut Supérieur des Cadres Militaires (ISCAM).

 

ISANGANIRO – 89.7; 101 & 95.1

·         Une femme, Lydia Nsekera, élue présidente de la Fédération du football du Burundi (FFB), chose qui arrive pour la première fois au Burundi.

·         La population de la province Kayanza se lamente contre la commission mise sur pied pour réprimer la fraude du café. Ses membres saisiraient même le café qui se trouve à l’intérieur des maisons.

·         La RSSG Carolyn McAskie a sorti un communiqué de presse où elle invite tous les partis burundais concernés à redoubler leurs efforts afin d’aboutir dans les prochains jours à un consensus autour de l’accord de Prétoria.

·         For the first time in Burundi, a woman, Lydia Nsekera, was elected President of the national football federation (FFB).

·         The population of Kayanza Province complains against the commission set up to suppress the theft of coffee. Its members reportedly take hold of coffee inside houses.

·         UN SRSG Carolyn McAskie issued a press release inviting all involved Burundian parties to double their efforts in order to meet a consensus over the Pretoria agreement in the coming days.
