The Chernobyl disaster until now has medical, economic, technological, social-psychological and moral consequences. It has affected interests of million people, having worsened quality of their life.
At present it has been established that health disorders of affected population are the result of the complex influence of the factors of the catastrophe of both radiation and non-radiation genesis, which have complied with a heavy social-economic crisis in the society.
Scientists and physicians of the world should use unique data on the health and biological consequences of the Chernobyl disaster, which have been obtained as a result of the long-term follow-up studies, for the improving of knowledge in the field of radiation medicine and optimisation of human protection under global radioecological disasters.
