China: RCSC provides 1 million yuan to typhoon -hit areas in Guangdong

On September 26, Red Cross Society of China(RCSC) once again decided to provided 1 million yuan to aid typhoon -hit areas in Guangdong Province. These cashes coming from the donation by SMS will be used for the local procurement of urgently needed relief supplies.

Since September 21, Typhoon Fanapi hit Yangjiang, Yunfu City, such as 9 of 34 counties (cities, districts) in the province affected. According to the statistics as of September 26, the province's total population of 1.563 million people affected, emergency relocated population of 128,000 people, an area of 66,400 hectares of crops affected, the direct economic loss of 5.06 billion yuan.

In response to the disaster, the RCSC launched four class emergency response on September 23. And 500 families aid packages, 1000 double mosquito nets, 300 cases of water disinfectants were allocated for local relief efforts. Meanwhile Guangdong Red Cross actively involved in disaster relief work, there were 400,000 yuan of emergency allocation of rice, clothing, family package sent to the disaster areas.
